Q: Why is organizing my home so important?
A: Self-care for your home is self-care for you. Investing time and energy into your home by creating and keeping an organized space will bring you calm and allow you to seamlessly carry out your daily routines and activities without the stress, frustration and agitation that clutter and mess can often bring.
Q: Why should I hire a professional organizer?
A: Most of our clients have been struggling with trying to get organized for a long time but often become overwhelmed with finding the motivation, time, energy, and know-how to get the job done. Hiring a professional organizer will ease the struggle of trying to figure out what to keep and where to keep it. A professional organizer with the right training has the expertise to help you commit to, plan and implement customized organizing systems that will increase the efficiency of your home! At Shelf Care Organizing we have a tried and true step by step process that will get your stuff sorted, decluttered and rearranged simply. We can also provide you with alternate options for room planning to open up the space and or make it more functional for the activities you wish to carry out in the space.
Q: What do you organize?
A: Pretty much everything! Our most common projects are kitchens, basements, craft rooms, garages, playrooms, laundry rooms, kids bedrooms, closets, pantries, linen closets, offices, storage rooms and more!
Q: How long will it take to organize?
A: This will depend on the size of the space, the nature and number of items contained in the space, and the speed of client decision-making. After the initial discovery call, you will receive a proposal with the estimated hours for the project.
Q: Does the organizing fee include the cost of the organizing products (containers etc.)?
A: The cost of organizing products is not included in the service hour fees/packages. At Shelf Care Organizing, we have packages that map out the locations for your items and measure out the spaces should you wish to purchase organizing products. We will research products that fit the space physically and functionally and within your budget and design preferences. We give you all the options, and the choice to purchase is yours.
Q: Can I reuse organizing products that I have on hand?
A: Of course! In fact, at Shelf Care Organizing, we are crafty with re-using containers, baskets and other organizational products should you choose to recycle the products you have on hand and save money!
Q: What is my involvement in the project when I hire a professional organizer for in Home Organizing?
A: At Shelf Care Organizing, we want to ensure the process is comfortable for you! Generally, the process works best if the first phase of organizing (sorting and editing) is done with you so you can decide what to keep or pass along. Once you have settled on what to keep and we have discussed preferences for the project, we are happy to work on our own with check-ins to completion. We want to ensure the process is comfortable and flexible with your desired and expected service.
Q: What is my involvement in the project when I hire a professional organizer virtually?
A: With virtual organizing, all the hands-on work is done by you at the advice and direction of your professional organizer. Your professional organizer will follow the same step-by-step organizational process as an in-person session but be remote. Virtual projects are just as impressive as in-person sessions- clients are happy!
Q: Will you force me to throw out my stuff?
A: Absolutely not! Your belongings are yours. We will not force you to get rid of anything! In saying this, we will revisit the project's goals to ensure that it is going in the direction you originally envisioned, and we are keeping true to the organizational process by de-cluttering and editing items down to what you love, need and what will serve you today.
Q: What do I need to do before the Organizing sessions?
A: Whatever you do, don’t clean up! We don’t care about a messy house. We have seen it all and are here to help you! No prep is required for the organizing sessions other than ensuring you have eaten and are hydrated and comfortable for the appointment so we can use our time together efficiently.

A: Currently, we are accepting e-transfers and credit cards via Quickbooks.
